= KML EDUCATORS’
CONFERENCE =
There will be no
school on Monday, February 11. This is the date of our federation’s
annual educators’ conference hosted by our high school. Our elementary
and high school teachers join together for Bible study, professional
growth, and fellowship. This year’s topic is Differentiated Instruction.
Our presenter is Jill Bartelt, who teaches third grade at the Slinger
public schools. We know that this will be a beneficial
conference for all who attend.
= GRADE SCHOOL
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT =
The grade school
basketball tournament will be held February 8-10. Come and cheer on the
future Chargers. Visit www.kmlgsal.org
for more information.
= TURN-ABOUT DANCE
=
Student Council will host
the turn-about dance on Saturday, February 16, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.
The dance will be semi-formal with a masquerade theme. We will also
conduct our student auction at this time. All proceeds from the silent
and live auction will be designated for a school project.
= PROM 2008 EVENT =
PROM 2008 is an event
being hosted by 6 local schools.
It will be held on February 24, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Prom 2008 will provide opportunities for all attending to
purchase formal wear at a greatly reduced price.
A majority of the items will be donated.
Many other items will be new, donated by stores and formal wear
companies. There will be a
fashion show put on by students.
There will be food, and local businesses providing services such
as: (florists, hair
dressers, formal and limo rentals and many more).
If you have any formal wear that you would like to donate such
as: dresses, suits, jewelry, purses etc. they will be tagged with the
school’s name and 50% of all sales will be given back to the schools.
Silent auction items are welcome, 70% of the proceeds will be
given back to the schools.
Tickets for entrance are $2 and 60% of all ticket sales will be given
back to the schools. Dresses
that don’t sell will be kept in the formal room of Mom and Me Hidden
Treasures Closet (resale shop) in Cedarburg and as dresses are sold
throughout the year, the profits will go back to the schools.
This is a great way to donate formal wear taking up space in your
closets and a way to help students and schools through the profits
earned and shared. If you
are interested in donating an item by February 10, please contact Pastor
Hughes at 677-4051x1102 or rhughes@kmlhs.org or drop it off in good
condition at the main office at KML.
If any mothers would be interested in helping with tagging of
dresses or helping with some minor organization issues, please contact
Pastor Hughes.
