-- NEWS AND INFORMATION –

= CALL NEWS =

Mr. Paul Wendland has accepted our call to serve Christ at KML as band instructor and Fine Arts Department head.  Mr. Wendland currently serves at Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin.  Join us in thanking God for filling this position on our faculty and keep Lakeside in your prayers as they now begin the process of replacing Mr. Wendland.

= JEROME KIESELHORST CALLED HOME =

The Lord Almighty has fulfilled his promise of eternal life to Mr. Jerry Kieselhorst. He was called home midday, Friday May 2.  The visitation and funeral service for Jerry Kieselhorst will be at KML on Monday, May 5.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 and the service will be held at 7:00 with refreshments to follow.  Jerry served faithfully on the KML faculty from 1975 to 1997.

= QUILTERS’ SHOW =

The Quilt Show at KML will be held on May 3 and 4, from 10:00am-4:00pm. Cost of entry is $5.00. If you are volunteering for the event, you will be able to enter for free. The food and volunteer committee for this new event has been meeting frequently to plan our menu and how we will feed the 800-1000 quilt show enthusiasts that are expected to come through the doors. Thank-you in advance to all who have volunteered to make this event possible.

= AUCTION THANK YOU =

A big thank you to the committee who put on the successful "Springtime in Paris" auction last Saturday. Mary Wilke did an outstanding job on decorations; Sue Neuberger compiled the booklet and handled publicity; Dawn Aisbet organized the gifts as they came in; Joy Ruddat handled registrations; Karen Bartman entered information into the computer at KML to keep all the data entry in one location; Wendy Zimmerman was our secretary and kept accurate minutes of the meetings while Mark Frank handled the emcee job with flair. We also appreciate the help of the numerous people who solicited gifts and supported the committee in other ways. The talents and treasures shared by many contributed to a successful evening.

= FAMILY MUSIC FEST THANK-YOU! =

We would like to thank all of the parents and students who helped to make Family Music Fest a success. Your talents, time, and donations are greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Lynne Mathiak (chairperson) for all the effort she put into making the evening so successful.

= WELS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH RALLY =

Join members of the 2009 WELS International Youth Rally Planning Committee for a live chat on May 6, from 8-9:00pm.  Come share your ideas for topics, break-out groups, mixers, entertainment, meals, and more…  Visit www.livingbold.net/chat for more details

= FUTURE FRESHMAN NIGHT =

Parents and members of the KMLHS Class of 2012 are invited to attend Future Freshman Night. This hour long presentation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 7:00pm in the KMLHS cafeteria. This evening is for current eighth graders and their parents who are registered at KML for next year, and for those who are undecided. We would like another chance to see you while at the same time provide you with some valuable information that will help you start your high school career out on the right foot. If you have an unavoidable conflict, please contact Mr. Granberg or Mr. Sievert, and we will get the information to you. We look forward to seeing you!

= PLANT SALE PICK-UP TIMES =

Thank you to all who placed orders for our annual flower and vegetable sale. Pick up for the plants will be held on Thursday, May 8, from 12:00 to 5:00. Due to lack of storage space, any order not picked up by 5:00 on Thursday will be disposed of unless special arrangements have been made. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 8:00am to help sort orders. Orders may be picked up in the back hallway by the cafeteria. Enter through the double doors on the west side of the building.

= ECHOES OFFER FINAL CONCERT =

Join the Echoes on Saturday, May 10 at 7:00pm in the cafeteria as they offer their final performance and bid farewell to their senior members. Music selections include two energetic choreographed pieces, an entertaining vocal jazz set, a traditional madrigal, and even some barbershop singing.  A freewill offering will be gathered.

= KMLHS CHEER RUMMAGE =

We will be selling a variety of items including furniture, sporting goods, household items, toys, & books as wells as baked goods and other treats.  All items have been donated and proceeds will go towards the 2008-2009 athletic budget.  We appreciate your support and hope to see you there!  If you have items to donate, please contact Kristie Cooper at kmljvcheer@gmail.com by May 10th.

= PERCUSSION CONCERT =

= SPRING CONCERT – BE PART OF A PROMISE NIGHT! =

You have an opportunity to be part of a significant evening in KML's history.  The Fine Arts Department is pleased to present its annual Spring Concert featuring its award-winning band and choral ensembles.  KML will bid farewell to Mr. Schlomer, Mr. Goede, and the talented class of 2008.  Most important, you are invited to be an active part of Promise Night.  As we continue Walking the Path, each of you is invited to make a promise to the future of KML's ministry.  Students, faculty, and audience members will be asked to make a financial promise to the Walking the Path campaign, which will eliminate the debt and ultimately make the dream of our own Performing Arts Center a reality.  Join us on Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30.  For further information about how you can join the many others who are walking with us, please contact Wendy Breimon at 262-677-4051 x1118 or wbreimon@kmlhs.org .
