KMaiL
July 27, 2007
Welcome to the newest edition of KMaiL, a weekly e-mail update from Kettle
Moraine
Lutheran High
School.
-- NEWS AND INFORMATION --
= OUTREACH TO MUSLIMS =
Special Bible Presentations - Outreach To Muslims -
136 people enjoyed "Jacob's" initial presentation on his conversion from
Islam to Christianity back in May. You are invited to
Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church, 777 Indiana Ave,
West Bend, for two new presentations from
"Jacob" on additional facets of outreach to Muslims. Join us Mondays
July 16 and 23 at 6:30 pm.
= SCHEDULE CHANGES =
During a review of
the master schedule, we found a major glitch that had to be corrected.
As a result of this correction, we had to move all of the classes
being taught in the third hour block of time to the fourth hour and all
of the classes being taught in the fourth hour block of time to the
third hour. Because this
change affects all students, we will reprint the student schedules.
The new student schedules will be available on registration day.
Also, those students who have requested schedule changes will
find that those changes have been made when they pick up their new
schedules on registration day.
We will mail new schedules to those students who have
pre-registered.
= CROSS
TRAINERS “TRAINING DAYS” =
Cross Trainers
"Training Days" are set for Tuesday, August 14 and Wednesday, August 15.
Cross Trainers will meet from 1:00-4:00 to prepare for Freshmen
Orientation and also plan for the upcoming school year. Information was
sent out via email to all Cross Trainers. If you did not receive this
information, please contact Mr. Heckendorf at 262-677-4051 x1153 or
mheckend@kmlhs.org .
=
CELEBRATION OF MINISTRY =
Our annual
Celebration of Ministry service is set for Sunday, September 9, at 6:00
p.m. This year’s service will be hosted by
Peace Lutheran Church
in Hartford.
Mrs. Sarah Schmandt and Mrs. Stephanie Cares, our two new instructors,
will be installed at this service. We will also offer our praise and
thanks to God in recognition of Mr. Leonard Collyard’s forty years of
faithful service in the public ministry. Mr. Collyard is now entering
his 32nd year of service to our school as math instructor and activities
director. Please join us for this special worship opportunity. Light
refreshments will follow the service.
= WATCH FOR YOUR INVITATION TO A KML “NON-EVENT” EVENT =
We all have busy
lives, so KMLHS invites you to a “Non-Event” September 16, 2007!
Stay home, put your feet up, and relax. Spend some quiet time doing what
you find relaxing. All we ask is that you remember your high school, and
send a check to support Christian education at KMLHS.
Our priority is to
take care of the needs for our current students.
Then we can focus on the needs of our future students. Our goal is to
raise the $119,500 needed from individuals to bridge the gap between
tuition income and actual cost to educate each student.*
Actual cost to
educate one student is $7,685.
17% from
congregations = $1,306
67% from the student
tuition = $5,148
12% from department
income = $922
4% from individuals =
$309 *
Please prayerfully
consider how many students you can help to support for this school year.
With everyone working together, we can meet their needs by the
September 16 target date. (Any additional money from this Non-Event will
be used for tuition assistance.)
=
FOREIGN EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITIES =
KML has
opportunities each year to host students through foreign exchange
programs. If you would be interested in hosting a foreign exchange
student and giving a student an opportunity to hear more about Christ,
please contact Pastor Hughes at 677-4051 x1102 or
rhughes@kmlhs.org . We have a
couple students who currently desire such an opportunity.
= CLASS OF 2008 SENIOR PICTURES =
Parents and Students:
One wallet sized head shot is needed for each student in the class of
2008. This picture will
appear in the 2008 yearbook as the student’s senior picture.
You may either set up an appointment to have your pictures taken
by a professional studio or purchase a class picture packet during
Book-and-Fee Day in August.
In order for these pictures to be placed in the yearbook, they must be
submitted to Miss Schaffer no later than December 1, 2007.
If you have questions, please contact Kate Schaffer at KML.
Phone: 262.677.4051 x1165.
