= FOOTBALL HOME-OPENER =
We would like to invite all KMLHS students, parents, alumni, and grade school students to a special home-opener football game on Friday, August 31st at 4:45 PM.  Help cheer the Chargers on to victory against Columbus!  The game will also coincide with our football and cheer teams' Parent's Day Celebration.  All athletes and parents will be recognized throughout the game.  Small prizes will be given before and during the game, and all fans will have the opportunity to win a basket full of great Charger Gear by participating in our Senior Photo Match contest.  All proceeds will go towards KML's athletic budget.  We would love to see the stands packed full of KML fans!

= KMLHS MUSICAL AUDITIONS =

The KMLHS Fine Arts Department will be producing the musical, "Oliver!" this school year with performances March 6-9, 2008.  This well known Broadway musical has many opportunities for students at KMLHS--acting, pit orchestra, stage managers, lighting crew, make-up, and more.  Any students interested in auditioning for the acting roles should pick up materials at KMLHS when school begins.  Grade school students entering grades 4-8 may also audition and can pickup audition materials at the KMLHS main office beginning on August 23, 2007.  Auditions will be as follows:

Tuesday, September 4:  6:30pm--high school students only

Wednesday, September 5:  6:30pm--high school students only

Thursday, September 6:  5:30pm--grade school students; 6:30pm--call backs

Friday, September 7:  Results posted at KMLHS and at www.kmlhs.org/fine_arts/drama

= CELEBRATION OF MINISTRY =

Our annual Celebration of Ministry service is set for Sunday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m. This year’s service will be hosted by Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. Mrs. Sarah Schmandt and Mrs. Stephanie Cares, our two new instructors, will be installed at this service. We will also offer our praise and thanks to God in recognition of Mr. Leonard Collyard’s forty years of faithful service in the public ministry. Mr. Collyard is now entering his 32nd year of service to our school as math instructor and activities director. Please join us for this special worship opportunity. Light refreshments will follow the service.

= Fine Arts Concert Series Begins Second Season =

The KML Fine Arts Concert Series will begin its second season with a guest recital by Cindy Solfest-Wallis, flute, and Juanita Becker, piano.  Both women are instructors at Wisconsin Lutheran College.  The recital will take place Thursday, September 13 at 7:00pm in the cafeteria.  These events are "Pay What You Want" with the money used to offset the cost of the series.  Please join us for an evening of professional performers and great music.

= WATCH FOR YOUR INVITATION TO A KML “NON-EVENT” EVENT =

We all have busy lives, so KMLHS invites you to a “Non-Event” September 16, 2007! Stay home, put your feet up, and relax. Spend some quiet time doing what you find relaxing. All we ask is that you remember your high school, and send a check to support Christian education at KMLHS.

Our priority is to take care of the needs for our current students. Then we can focus on the needs of our future students. Our goal is to raise the $119,500 needed from individuals to bridge the gap between tuition income and actual cost to educate each student.*

Actual cost to educate one student is $7,685.

   17% from congregations = $1,306

   67% from the student tuition = $5,148

   12% from department income = $922

   4% from individuals = $309 *

Please prayerfully consider how many students you can help to support for this school year.  With everyone working together, we can meet their needs by the September 16 target date. (Any additional money from this Non-Event will be used for tuition assistance.)

= Bus Drivers Needed =

Although KML has its own bus, we may be in a position at times where we won’t be able to use it due to the limited availability of drivers.  We need additional drivers for after school activity trips.  If you can help in this area contact the KML Athletic Office at 262-677-4051, ext.1103.

= SEPTEMBER KML NEWS =

Students received a hard copy of the September KML NEWS to bring home today.  The October edition will be distributed via email to parents unless they specified otherwise at registration.  You can also view the KML NEWS online at www.kmlhs.org/publications .
