Welcome to the newest edition of KMaiL, a weekly e-mail update from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

-- NEWS AND INFORMATION --

= HOMECOMGING 2007 =

   Homecoming week will be September 23 – 29. Please plan to join us for the week’s festivities. Volleyball faces North Fond du Lac and Cross Country will run at Homestead Hollow on Thursday, September 27.  Soccer will take on Wisconsin Lutheran and Football will meet North Fond du Lac on Saturday.  The pep rally and Homecoming Coronation will be held on Friday at 7:00pm. The banquet starts at 6:30 pm on Saturday night, September 29. The dress code for the banquet and dance is formal.  Additional information about the week's activities, dress is available at www.kmlhs.org/student_council .

 

= HOMECOMING HELP NEEDED =

   Parents, if you are able to lend a hand on homecoming night for our banquet and dance please contact Pastor Hughes at rhughes@kmlhs.org or 677-4051 x1102.  We could use a few extra hands for some of the following jobs:

1) Friday and Saturday nights - A couple mothers to make sure our court has flowers pinned and sashes positioned correctly

2) Friday - Help with supervision as we are cleaning up after the pep rally and decorating the gym for the banquet

3) Saturday - Cake servers for the banquet

4) Saturday - Help with cleaning up and taking out garbage after the banquet meal

Thanks for considering these requests.

 

= HOMECOMING BANQUET TICKETS =

   Parent tickets for the homecoming banquet are $12 and can be ordered from Pastor Hughes at rhughes@kmlhs.org or 677-4051 x1102.  You can send your payment with your teen, but it should be delivered directly to Pastor Hughes.

 

= PARENT TEACHER CONSULTATIONS =

   Our Parent-Teacher Consultations will take place on Wednesday, September 26, from 6:00 – 8:30pm, and Monday, October 1, from 8:00 until 4:00. Please plan to attend this important event. It will follow our first Interim Report Day. Please watch for more information which will be included with your September financial statement.

 

= EAST COAST TRIP =

   An informational meeting for parents & students interested in the East Coast Trip will take place in the cafeteria on Tuesday, October 2nd, from 7:00-8:15 p.m.   Tom Niedfeldt of Tom's Christian Tour's will be sharing valuable information regarding the trip that takes place over Easter Break and answer any questions you may have.   The trip is available to current juniors and seniors.  Contact Mr. Zeamer at gzeamer@kmlhs.org or 677-4051 x1124 for more information.

 

= OCTOBER COMMUNIQUE =

   The October edition of the Communique, our monthly federation update, is now available online at www.kmlhs.org/publications

 

= LIVINGBOLD CHAT =

   LivingBold, an online magazine or e-zine for teens produced by the WELS will be hosting an online chat on Tuesday, Septebmer 25, at 8pm CST.  The topic of this chat will be "Coping with school, teachers and friends".  Join high school senior Stephen Vandenberg (Fox Valley Lutheran) and Pastor Ben Berger (Mt Olive, Appleton WI) and kick around what it is about school, teachers, and friends that gets on your nerves, and how to deal with it as a Christian.  Visit www.livingbold.net for more information

 

= SAVE THE PLANET – HELP YOUR SCHOOL =

   You may not have a cape and tights or super powers, but you can save the planet and help KML at the same time.  We are currently running a recycling program fundraiser and we want you to participate by donating items that you might otherwise throw in the trash.  We are currently collecting:

   - Inkjet printer cartridges

   - Laser printer toner cartridges

   - Cell phones

   - DVD movies

   - DVD video games

   - Laptop & notebook computers – no desktop computers, printers or monitors please

   - MP3 music players

   - Digital cameras & Digital video cameras

   - Portable DVD players

   - X-Boxes, Sony Playstations, Wii

   - Digital picture frames

   - Portable navigation & GPS devices

   *** All items can be working or not ***

   If you, your friends, your relatives or your business have any of these items that you want to get rid of now or on an ongoing basis, please consider sending them to KML.  You can drop off these items in the KML main office at any time or, for more information, please contact Joshua Schoeneck at joshua@kmlhs.org or 262-677-4051 x2318.

 

= LITTLE LEARNERS TEACHING POSITIONS AVAILABLE =

   St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Slinger is in need of a full time teacher (10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) and an assistant teacher (3:00 - 6:00 p.m.) in their "Little Learners" child care Program.  (The full time position could be split into two shifts with two different workers).  If you are interested in learning more, please call 262.644.8295 or e-mail school@stpaulslinger.org .
