Welcome to the latest edition of KMaiL, a weekly e-mail update from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

-- NEWS AND INFORMATION --

= PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE KML FALL CONCERT =

   October is the first chance of the year to hear the award–winning KMLHS music department. Concert Choir, Kantorei Choir, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Echoes, and Jazz Ensemble-I will perform at on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00pm in the KMLHS gymnasium. With so much talent in our programs, there will surely be a favorite piece of music for everyone. An offering will be gathered to support the music ministry at KMLHS.

 

= VETERANS’ DAY =

   We are once again honored to host a special Veterans’ Day program this year. All are welcome to join us on Monday, November 12, at 9:20am in our gymnasium. The program will last 45 to 50 minutes. All veterans, active military, reserves – and their families – are most welcome as our honored guests. Pastor Charles Raasch of Morning Star, Jackson, will be our guest speaker. If you have family members or friends who are veterans, active military, or military family, please invite them to this special program. Our honored guests are asked to call our school at 262-677-4051 to let us know they are coming. (Ask for Wendy Zimmermann, extension 1101).

 

= THE FINE-ARTS DEPARTMENT NEEDS YOU!!!! =

   Planning to clean out your closets or attic? KML is looking for donations for the upcoming musical, Oliver! We need any Victorian type clothing or modern clothes that can be adapted. The following is a list of more specific items:

Men: Tuxedos, Suits, Vests, Dress pants, any color or condition, Dress shirts, solid colors or white, Tuxedo type shirts (old band shirts), Bow ties or cravats, Military style clothing, Long coats, winter or spring, Suspenders - solid color, Dress gloves, Top hats, Bobbie (Police) hats, Newsboy style hats, Any other old hats, Walking sticks, Pocket watches and watch chains

Women: Formal dresses, Petticoats, bridal or prom type, Dress gloves, Bloomers, Capes, Shawls, Hats, Victorian or old style, Muffs, Cameo necklaces, Watches, pin type or chain, Parasols

Sewing Supplies: Fabric - any type - cottons to satins and velvets - large or small pieces, Trim, lace, ribbon, Thread, Buttons, Velcro

= BUS DRIVERS NEEDED =

   KML has recently purchased a larger bus with underneath storage. We may be in a position at times where we will not be able to use it due to the limited availability of drivers. We need additional drivers for afterschool activity trips. If you can help in this area, please contact the KML athletic office at 677-4051, ext. 1103.

= ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BAND PROGRAM STARTS STRONG! =

   The Elementary School Band Program is off to another great start. This year we have 120 students in the band program. Last August we held our first Beginner Band Camp. Forty-five beginning instrumentalists attended this week-long morning camp. Throughout the year, our futures Chargers take lessons at their school and participate in a Saturday morning band program. Our 5th - 8th grade band students perform in the Winter Band Concert, Family Music Fest, the Spring Jazz Concert and our own Spring Band Concert. Other activities throughout the year include a Solo Festival, Fall Band Camp, Spring Awards Day, and a Festival Band trip to Appleton.

 

= FEDERATION TUITION FORUM =

   Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School is hosting a Federation Tuition Forum on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 9:00 – 10:30 am.  Discussion will focus on tuition statistics and trends of the Lutheran Elementary schools of the KML federation.  Pastors, principals, Board of Education and Church Council are encouraged to attend, but the forum is open to any interested member of our Federation.  Mr. Tom Hering, staff minister at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Grafton will serve as the facilitator.

= TEACHING OUR FAMILIES TO BE GOOD STEWARS OF GOD’S MATERIAL GIFTS =
