= JUNIOR CHARGER
BASKETBALL =
The
Junior Charger Youth Basketball Club is looking forward to beginning its
7th season of competition this winter. Our program offers individuals in
the KML Federation the opportunity to participate on a club basketball
team with other players who have a similar interest and ability in the
game of basketball. Our program supports one team for each grade level 5
– 8 with practices beginning in February and the season concluding in
early April. Cost per player is $125 which helps defray the cost of
uniforms, gym fees, and tournament entry fees. Tryouts for the 2008
Junior Charger teams will be held on the two Sundays; November 25th and
December 2 from 3:30 – 5:30 at Kettle Moraine Lutheran HS. Players are
encouraged to attend both tryouts. Players who are unable to attend
should contact Mr. Glenn Rusch (garusch@aol.com).
We ask all players to fill out a registration form and send them to
Coach Rusch or drop them off with Coach Jahns at KML by November 15.
Tryout and registration information is available from the KML
Federation grade schools or by contacting Glenn Rusch (garusch@aol.com)
or Todd Jahns (tjahns@kmlhs.org).
Teams will be posted via are website at (www.eteamz.com/juniorchargers)
no later than December 15 and we will hold a parent meeting to collect
fees and size uniforms following the selection of each team.
All
basketball players within the KML Federation are encouraged to tryout,
but we ask players and parents to consider these things before
committing to our program.
- eighth grade players need to have completed the registration process
at KML
- fifth through seventh grade players need to plan on attending KML
- teams practice twice per week for an hour and a half starting in late
January/early February and continue through early April
- games consist of 4 – 5 weekend tournaments at
various locations
- parent volunteer time (about 3hrs) is needed to help run our Junior
Charger tournament
- academic responsibility and staying up to date on homework are a top
priority
- impact on your family time
- participation on our summer league team which plays 6 Tuesday nights
in June and July
Our main purpose and
goal has always been and will continue to be the development of our
younger players. Our coaching staff strives hard to create a positive
learning experience and provides quality instruction at each practice.
Players will be challenged to develop their individual skills as players
while working together for the common good of their team. Along the way,
players develop some great new friendships with future classmates and
have a great time playing the game of basketball.
