2010 GRADE SCHOOL CHEER CLINIC
The KMLHS Cheer Team is proud to host their popular grade school
cheer clinic on Saturday, November 20th from 1:00-5:00 PM. All
4th-8th grade students are invited to attend our fun, skills packed
clinic. Please see the clinic flyer linked below for more
information.
A Coaches' Clinic will also be conducted on November 20th from 9:00
AM-12:00 PM. Featured topics include important safety rules and
guidelines, choreography tips, review new rules for the growing
KMLHS Grade School Cheer and Dance Competition, as well as our
popular stunt demo session. NEW THIS YEAR: bring a stunt group for
hands-on technique tips and see instant improvement. Tips learned
can then be shared with the rest of your team. Coaches are invited
to attend the afternoon session with their team free of charge.

KML CHEER GOES TO CAMP
The JV and Varsity teams attended cheer camp in Wisconsin Rapids at
the end of July. The teams worked hard, learning new cheers, dances
and stunts. Their efforts were rewarded throughout the camp. Jaimie
Shine won the Toe-Touch Jump Contest, and the varsity had two stunt
groups win the Stunt Contests (Susan Becker, Theresa Chiconas,
Katlyn Hinch, Ashley Ihlenfeldt, Grace Johnson, Emily La Sage,
Lauren Sauter, Jaimie Shine, and Ashley Tollefson).
Leadership Awards were given to those that went above and beyond
with a positive, hard-working attitude. Several KML athletes earned
this award: from JV - Tiffany Knight, Cassidy Page; and from the
Varsity - Susan Becker, Jaimie Shine, Ashley Ihlenfeldt, Allysa
Michaelsen, Alyssa Capek, Kayla Ermer, and Shannon Eggers
Several KML athletes were also chosen for the Wisconsin Down Under
team. The team competes in Australia over the summer against teams
from around the world. Chosen from the JV team – Marlee Feavel,
Lauren Follansbee, Rachael Harwin and Cassidy Page; and from the
Varsity team - Susan Becker, Alyssa Capek, Theresa Chiconas, Kayla
Ermer, Shannon Eggers, Ashley Ihlenfeldt, Grace Johnson, Emily La
Sage, Brooke Lemke, Allysa Michaelsen, Jaimie Shine, and Ashley
Tollefson
The Varsity team was given the honor of being chosen as the Best
Team at camp. Jaimie Shine also earned the Senior Award, being
chosen as the top senior athlete.

Staff were truly impressed by all the talented teams in attendance.

KMLHS CHEERLEADERS WIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!
On Saturday, February 13th, the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Cheer Team,
coached by Amy Nass and Megan Wisniewski, participated in the WACPC
(Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches) Wisconsin State
Cheerleading Competition held at the Brown County Arena in Green
Bay. The cheer team qualified for the WIAA endorsed State
competition on Saturday, January 30th, by receiving a first place
award at the WACPC Southern Regional competition. Over 60 teams from
Wisconsin high schools participated in the state competition. The
KMLHS Cheer Team earned a 1st place standing in their division, and
were named the Division III State Champions for the seventh year in
a row. KML was the highest scoring team on their judging panel and
the 2nd highest scoring team overall, regardless of division (school
size or team size). In addition to the team awards, KML’s stunt
groups took 2nd place (Theresa Chiconas, Ashley Ihlenfeldt, Kaylin
Nick, Ashley Scott) and 4th place (Abby Clausing, Brooke Lemke,
Monica Pless, Ashley Tollefson). Lastly, after a live individual
tryout, Abby Clausing was named to the 2010 WACPC All-State Cheer
Team and Monica Pless was named to the Honorable Mention team. The
KMLHS cheerleaders are thankful to their parent’s and supporters for
the encouragement and prayers throughout the season. They are also
extremely thankful to our Lord and Savior for blessing all their
endeavors.

The
KMLHS Cheer team is made up of dedicated and enthusiastic athletes. These
athletes devote a significant amount of time and effort to be part of a
program that strives to be their best for God’s glory.
The
head coaches have extensive experience coaching cheerleading. They
are dedicated to excellence, both athletic and academic. The athlete's faith
and education are of the utmost importance to the coaches, and they are
dedicated to helping their athletes have a successful high school career.
The current cheerleading program consists of a JV and varsity squad.
Both the JV and Varsity teams have been recognized for their talent at
various competitions in the Midwest.
The JV team was named the 2009, 2008 & 2005 WACPCJAMState Champions. The varsity cheer team was the Division III
2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, & 2003 WACPC Regional Champions,
and for the past seven years, held the title as Division III WACPC State Champions.
The football cheer team cheers for all home games, with the season running
from late August to mid-October. The basketball cheer team cheers for
all boys and girls home games, with the season running from early November
until the beginning of March. Practices are normally two to three
times a week. Tumbling classes are also offered. During the season,
the JV and varsity teams normally compete
in 3-4 competitions.
The team also offers a 4-day summer camp for 1-8th grade girls, a
day clinic for 4-8th grade girls, and hosts their popular grade
school cheer and dance competition. The team also attends various
camps and clinics throughout the season and is involved in several community
service activities.
Selection of the varsity and JV teams occur in early March.
