Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School

Eine Traumreise (A Dream Vacation)

2016 Germany group

Eighteen KML students and parents spent part of their summer vacations overseas this past June. Led by KML German teacher, Mr. Wes Schmandt, they visited the German-speaking countries of Austria, Switzerland, and of course, Germany. The 14-day tour offered all a wonderful overview of the landscape, culture and history of German-speaking Europe. The tour wound its way through Germany starting in the historical capital of Berlin, moving south to the medieval village of Rothenburg, through the Black Forest, to the majestic Alps of Germany and Austria, ending up on the banks of the mighty Rhein River. Highlights of the tour were visits to King Ludwig’s castle Neuschwanstein, Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest perched high in the Alps, and Lutherstadt Wittenberg—the site of the famous nailing of the ninety-five theses.

Consider joining us on our next tour tentatively planned for the summer of 2018! Questions? Contact Mr. Schmandt (262-677-4051 x1164;

Grandparents' Days at KML

KML invites the grandparents of its students to come for a visit. Select either Thursday, October 13, or Friday, October 14. Begin the day with coffee and sweet rolls followed by some special entertainment. Then join your grandchildren for chapel, and spend the rest of the day with them, visiting classes and eating lunch together. KML is honored to provide lunch for our grandparents.
