Advanced Algebra-Honors - 1 credit 2 semesters
Building upon basic concepts developed in Algebra and Geometry, this course expands those concepts and develops additional ones for those students with above average math ability. Engineers, chemists, physicists, persons in business and industry rely on advanced Algebra to solve many problems. Linear, quadratic, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, rational, and radical functions and their graphs, analytic geometry, matrices, probability, and one and two variable statistics are further developed in this class, while series and sequences, linear regression, conic sections, the binomial theorem, composition and inverse functions, variation, the fundamental theorem of algebra, graph theory, and recursion are developed. This course is for students with above average and superior math skills, as it covers these topics and more at a faster, more in-depth pace than Advanced Algebra.
