Materials:

·         Lazy Susan (turntable)

·         Wood

·         Plexiglas

Building Instructions

1.       Cut the pieces of Plexiglas in a way to make a box of about 12x8x1 inches (a electric saw is a good way to cut the Plexiglas)

2.       DSC00278.JPGDSC00280.JPG
After all the pieces are cut. Glue all the pieces except the top together with the water sealant adhesive (I used Marine Contact Adhesive and Sealant, clamps are an option to hold it together while drying)

3.       Cut two pieces of wood to a preferred size, about 3x4 inches

4.       DSC00292.JPGDSC00289.JPGGlue the two pieces of wood to the lazy-Susan with either a hot glue gun or a strong glue( the sealant will work) , use the width of the Plexiglas box to assure the box will fit firmly between the wood

5.       DSC00296.JPGNow when all the sealant is dry fill the box with water and seal the top piece to the rest of the box; let dry

6.       Once the Plexiglas box is finished gently slide it in between the pieces of wood on the lazy Susan

Directions

Gun

1. Slide 2 springs onto the bolt followed by the one inch washer.

2. Attach the 12” piece of PVC to the PVC reducer.

3. Slide the bolt through the PVC.

4. Slide the final spring onto the end of the bolt and twist on the 3/8” nut.

5. Attach the final Washer and 3/8”  locknut to the bolt

The Structure

  1. Cut one 6-foot section and two 4-foot sections out of 2x4’s.
  2. Take one 4-foot section and the 6-foot section and attach them at a 90 degree angle with a triangular piece of plywood as a stabilizer.

  1. Repeat step three opposite the first section.
  2. Attach the PVC gun to the top of the 4-foot 2x4 using the 1” pipe clamps. (The gun should be pointed up at a slight angle. A piece of plywood and a small piece of 2x2 may be used as a stabilizer for the gun but is not necessary.

  1. Next cut a 1-foot piece of 2x2 and attach it to the other 2x4.

6. Begin running two wires from the gun, down across the structure, and up the other side.

  1. Attach the Battery Holder and Light Switch to the side opposite the gun.

8. Wrap extra wire twice around an iron nail.

9. Hang the nail from the 2x2 and wrap the excess wire around the 2x2. Make sure the flat end of the nail is facing downward.

10. Attach the wires to the gun and cross them just enough to touch in front of the barrel.

11. Finish connecting all the wires to complete the circuit. Put the D batteries in the battery holder and turn on the light switch. Make sure the wires are touching in front of the gun barrel. Hang a screw from the magnet to test if it is working.
