Pre-Calculus - 1 credit 2 semesters

Students who have found an aptitude and interest in mathematics, and whose career choices require a strong math background, should take this course. An in-depth study of trigonometry, including Trig identities, vectors, De Moivre’s Theorem, and trigonometric interpolation, is followed by an intense review of linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions and concepts, and their use to fit two variable data with regression or interpolation equations, will dominate the course, as Advanced Algebra skills are further refined. Matrices, Parametric equations, Conic Sections, Sequences and Series, the Binomial Theorem, Mathematical Induction, Permutations and Combinations, and an introduction to Calculus will be embedded in the course work and serve as a lead-in to higher level math courses.
Prerequisites: Advanced Algebra with approval of Advanced Algebra instructor
Note: This course may be taken concurrently with Statistics
Required Items: TI-83/84 graphics calculator
