Symphonic Band is a larger performing group that focuses on mastery of ensemble and individual playing techniques.  Through a curriculum of outstanding repertoire students learn how to make the most of God's gift of music.

Course Description

1 credit  2 semesters (fulfills the Fine Arts requirement for graduation)

(Elective grades 9-12)

The Concert Band is for any student who would like to perform instrumental music.  This class emphasizes basic ensemble playing techniques, practice routines, rehearsal techniques, basic music theory, and ear training.  The band performs at concerts and may attend various band clinics and festivals.  Band members also have the option to use their instrumental skills in several extra-curricular groups including:  Pep Band, Percussion Ensemble, Brass Choir, Jazz Ensemble, and Woodwind Ensembles.  KML is also a member of the Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin, a reputable marching band that travels nationwide in the summer to perform at parades.  Prior experience is recommended but is not required.  Students with no prior instrumental experience should contact the instructor.
