KMLHS Charger Band

Welcome to the KMLHS Band Program.  As you search our website, you will begin to see the great blessings God has granted us.  We have two high school bands, two jazz bands, percussion ensemble, brass choir, saxophone ensemble, clarinet choir, flute choir, pep band, and our own rock and worship band.  There is definitely something for everyone in the KMLHS Band Program.

Final Spring Concert

The final concert of the year is on Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30.  That's right, it STARTS and 6:30pm.

This concert is being called the "Promise Concert" and it will be a major event for the "Walking the PATH Campaign" to build a new Fine Arts facility on campus.  We pray that God will lead our federation to bravely move forward with this great blessing to our students, congregations, and community.

Students will NOT be wearing their uniforms.  Instead they will wear the following:

Symphonic Band:  To be announced.

Wind Ensemble:  Dark dress pants and a nice BLUE top with no graphics.  It must be blue (any shade).  Wear dress shoes and dark socks as well.
Scholarships and Summer Camps

Several of our seniors have already been offered thousands of dollars in scholarships to play their instruments and not all of them are music majors!  How do you do that?  Start by taking lessons.  A $4000 scholarship is easily attainable if you take lessons throughout high school and practice regularly.

Did you know that it is more likely to earn money in music scholarships than athletic scholarships?

Another great way to get a music scholarship is to attend a music summer camp.  There are several around the country.  This will give you an opportunity to greatly improve and develop a relationship with the top music professors around the country.

KMLHS Bands on CD Recording

The KMLHS Brass Choir, Jazz I, and Wind Ensemble will be featured on the 2009 Threshhold CD!  This disc is released in time for Christmas and is a regional fund raiser for a Washington County group.  We will be making our recording next week on Tuesday during normal rehearsal times.

Help with Scales

Many students have been asking for help with scales lately.  Here are a couple of great websites to help students with music theory and scales in particular.  Students are always encouraged to ask me questions as well.

Music Theory--beginning to advanced

Music Theory Help-- scales and more

Printable Scales-- find your instrument and click on level 5 for all 12 major scales and minor scales.  You can even print them all out!
