If you sat in the principal’s chair at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School,
you would observe some exciting things. Our school is driven by its
mission: “Empowered by God’s Word, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School
educates, encourages and equips God’s people for life and for eternity.”
The beauty of our mission statement is that it is driven by the unchanging
Word of God. In fulfilling our mission, our ministry team of teachers set
high standards for our students and then work hard to help them achieve
success. Their commitment to the students goes beyond the classroom,
however. It also reaches into their lives because KML teachers are
dedicated to nurturing the souls of the students with God’s Word. You see
evidence in all classes, not just the spiritual growth (religion) courses,
but also in the academic courses where teachers will bring scriptural
truth to light in lessons as appropriate. We trust that the use of God’s
Word is a blessing in the lives of our students insofar as we strengthen
the faith that will some day carry them into eternity to live forever with
Jesus.
In carrying out our mission, God has heaped many blessings
on our work. Graduates of our school achieve great things while enrolled
in the college or technical college of choice. Other graduates are highly
respected in their chosen career field. We are just so thankful to hear
about the successes of the graduates of our school, especially when we
hear of their participation in their church and community. We are happy to
have been accredited by the Wisconsin Religions and Independent Schools
Accreditation Association. The accreditation is valuable because it
announces to all that an outside agency validates our work, holds us
accountable for yearly progress towards our long-range plan, and will
ultimately lead to another self-study in seven years that will require us
to once again prove that we are worthy of accreditation. The work of the
self-study completed during the last school year was truly worth it!
God has assembled a number of key factors to allow his
work to be carried out through KML. The lifeblood of our school is our
students. Their energy is limitless, their enthusiasm is contagious, and
their optimism is infections. They are a busy lot with the vast majority
of them participating in co-curricular activities while at the same time
meeting the high standards placed in front of them by our faculty. We are
also blessed with caring and cooperative parents who are willing to help
us understand their students better and to provide support and
encouragement as needed. Working in concert with our team of dedicated
teachers, the students benefit. Our teachers see their work as a ministry,
thus displaying a commitment to nurturing our students for life and for
eternity. All of them consider it an honor to mold the lives of our
students and serve both their Savior and the students in carrying out the
work of their ministries. We are also blessed with a supportive federation
of congregations who offer to the work of our school, the time, talent,
and treasures of its members. For this we are grateful. We are also
blessed with the support of many others who remember our school’s work
with their gifts.
