-- NEWS AND INFORMATION –

 

= INTERNATIONAL STUDENT HOUSING =

   KML is seeking homes within the Federation to house students from South Korea or China.  We have accepted three international students for the fall of 2008. = KML FAMILY HOUSING NEEDS =

   We are seeking a home for a KML student whose family has moved from the KML Federation.  Pastor Jeff Bolwerk and his wife would love to see their son Robert continue in Christian education at KML.  Daughter, Sasha, (’07) graduated from our high school.  Contact Pastor Randy Hughes at rhughes@kmlhs.org or Jerry Zeamer at gzeamer@kmlhs.org.

 

= SHOT PUT AND DISCUS CLINIC =

   KML is offering a one-day clinic for shot put and discus for students going into grades 5-12, male and female on Monday, July 28, from 8 am – noon.  The cost is $5 and the clinic will be held at the KML Track.  Students will spend the morning learning technique, drills, and training for these field events.  The clinician will be Kris Schaffer.  Kris is a student-athlete attending Montana State University on a track scholarship.  This spring she set the school record in the shot put with a throw of 50'2".  She is the state record holder in the shot put in the state of South Dakota.  She holds numerous school and meet records in the throws.  Kris is the sister of KML teacher Kate Schaffer.  If you have any questions, please contact KML Track Coach Mark Otte at motte@kmlhs.org or 262-306-3521.

 

= PHYSICAL EXAMS OFFERED AT KML =

   Aurora Health Care is giving WIAA physicals at KML on July 30 from 5:30-8:00.  Go to www.aurorahealthcare.org/events/_hidden/search.asp?DisplayList=Y&fldDate=7/30/2008 to get additional information and to register.

 

= SUPPORT YOUR KMLHS CHEERLEADERS =

   On Saturday, August 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the KMLHS Cheer & Stunt Team will be conducting a car wash at the Speedway on County Line Road in Germantown.  Come and support your award winning cheerleaders; proceeds will go towards the cheer team's 2008-2009 athletic budget. We appreciate your support and hope to see you there!

 

= WALK WITH THE ANIMALS =

   Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in West Bend will present a community event with an animal theme, "Walk with the Animals," for young and old alike from 10am - 2pm on Saturday, August 2.  "Walk with the Animals" will include a live concert by Koine, free food, and fun at the church, 6869 Wildwood Road, West Bend.  A live interactive performance by a professional actor, puppet shows, a petting zoo, and games will all tie into Biblical animal stories such as "Noah's Ark," "Daniel Faces the Lions," and "Jonah and the Big Fish."  Visit www.shepherdofthehillswi.com/walk_with_the_animals.htm for more details.

 

= JOB POSTING =

   Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Food Service Assistant. This position will begin as a part-time (20-25 hours per week) school year job.

Starting date:

   August 18, 2008

General description:

   The Food Service Assistant reports on a daily basis directly to the Foods Service Manager and is responsible for the preparation/serving of school lunches and related activities in the building.

Qualifications:

1.  Ability and willingness to carry out the performance responsibilities listed below.

2.  Prior experience in food service or cafeteria work preferred.

3.  Dependability and punctuality.

4.  Effective communication and organizational skills.

5.  Previous experience and/or ability working with children or adolescents.

6.  Flexibility and demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

= CHILD CARE POSITION AVIALABLE =

   St. Matthew Christian Child Care, Port Washington, WI is looking for caring WELS individuals to work with our school-age children (ages 5 -12).  Wages will depend on education and experience.  Must be at least 18.  We will train. = SUMMER OPEN WEIGHT ROOM TIMES =

   Beginning June 23 and running through August 8, the KML weight room will be open Monday - Friday

From 8 am -10 am and Monday and Thursday from 6 pm-8 pm.

 

= SUMMER OFFICE HOURS =

   School office hours for the summer will be Monday through Friday, 9am to 1pm.  The faculty and staff will continue to check both their voice mail and email regularly during the summer, should you need to contact them.
