DIGITAL PORTFOLIO QUESTIONNAIRE
Many of our students have been compiling a digital portfolio with their lesson teachers over the course of this school year. These portfolios contain recordings and documents from the school year that show their progress as musicians. Mrs. Mayer would like to get some feedback from them on the process of compiling their portfolios and their reactions to their collection.Students received a paper form they can fill out, or if they'd rather, they can click here to go to the online form. There is no need to fill out both. Thank you!
REGISTER FOR OUR FREE SUMMER BAND CAMPS
We were excited to have so many fourth grade students and their families join us for our two registration and information nights. If you were unable to make it, you can click on the links below to get the information sheets that were handed out. Registration for both of our summer camps is all done online. Our Returning Student Camp will be held Tuesday, July 30 through Friday, August 2. Our Beginning Student Camp will be held Tuesday, August 6 through Friday, August 9. Both camps will run from 8:30 to 11:30 AM (with the exception of an extension until 5:00 PM on the Thursday of the Returning Student Camp for our trip to Country Springs Water Park). AWARDS DAY
We had a great time playing through some music with all of our concert bands put together with the KML Symphonic Band on Friday. After that we spent some time together at the YMCA, followed by a pizza party back at KML. We ended the night with the presentation of our awards for the year. Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School offers a band program to the elementary schools that are a part of the KML Federation. Once each week an instrumental instructor visits each elementary school to give students private music lessons. The lesson program consists of teaching the students the basics of their instruments and reading music.Large group rehearsals are held at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School on Saturday mornings. The students are split into three groups: the beginners are in the Colt Band, the second year students are in the Maverick Band and the more advanced students are in the Mustang Band. Students in the Mustang Band may also participate in Jazz Band. Performances for the groups include two major concerts in December and May, as well as other smaller events throughout the year. At these rehearsals students learn more about playing their instruments, meet new people and have other opportunities not available to them as a solo player.Students also participate in the Solo and Ensemble Festival held at KML in March. There students will have the opportunity to play in solo and small ensemble settings.
