Our Values

Philosophy & Purpose

KMLHS is governed and operated by the Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Federation, Inc., a federation of congregations which are affiliated with either the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. As such KMLHS operates under the auspices of the WELS and is in full agreement with its doctrines and practices. An explanation of WELS doctrinal beliefs is available here.

The primary concern of the KML Federation is to provide a Christ-centered secondary education which prepares young adults for service to their Savior. God’s Word clearly states that parents are to start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6 NIV). Through the Apostle Paul, God tells us to bring up our children in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4 NIV). Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School is a tool by which parents and guardians can carry out God’s will. Education at KML is rooted in scripture, which is found in the Holy Bible. Such education prepares a student not only for his life here on earth, but it also prepares him for his life in eternity.

All curriculum, activities, and school culture are taught and shared in the light of scripture. The academic programming at KMLHS is designed to ensure a Christ-guided success path for all of our students. Upon graduation, students of KMLHS will find themselves well prepared for college, technical school, public ministry, the trades, the military and the workforce.

Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod Schools Accreditation (WELSSA).

KML History

Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School was founded in Jackson, WI, in 1974 and celebrated 50 years of God’s grace during the 2023-2024 school year. In honor of this special milestone, the KML 50th Anniversary History Book was published which can be viewed online.
