From the Principal’s Pen

Dear KML Family,

There is no lack of excitement in the halls of KML this week as we see the personalities and fun-loving nature of our students come out for homecoming week. It is a true blessing for our Christian community. As a staff, we are thankful for the positive ways our students go about the festivities and dress-up days, reflecting their faith and values. With the weekend dance approaching, please encourage your student to have a great time, but also to make good choices and give glory to God. Go, Chargers!

God Bless,

Principal Luehring

COVID-19 Update

As we navigate through this pandemic together, we will continue to communicate with families who have had a child who is in the same classes, extra-curricular activities, and whose locker is within 6 feet of another student who tests positive for COVID-19. We will update this report on a weekly basis to give parents the larger picture of how many cases have occurred in our student body. In order to switch to virtual, parents must notify the Main Office (262-677-4051; office@kmlhs.org).

  • Total Cases (August 15 – September 2): 5
  • Total Cases (September 3 – September 30): 2
  • # of Cases Returned (Completed 10 Day Quarantine + Symptom Free for 24 Hours): 6
  • # of Cases on Quarantine (Within the 10 Day Quarantine + Symptom Free for 24 Hours): 1

From the Principal’s Pen

Dear KML Family,

Our chapel topic this week has focused on the blessings we enjoy as a unified body of Christ. We are blessed to be part of a Christian community who is united in the work of Christ. As we walk the road our Lord has set before us in this life, he assures us that we never walk alone. He gives us family, friends, and relationships which foster encouragement and joy. Most of all, we have the blessing of knowing that our God is also walking with us. May God continue to bless our KML family with unity during trying times in our world!

God Bless,

Principal Luehring

KML “Return to Play” Plan for WIAA Athletics

The 2020-2021 WIAA Fall Athletic Season has begun! Practices have started up at KMLHS for cross country, cheer, girls golf, football, volleyball, and boys soccer! Our fall athletes are beyond excited to have an allowance to participate and are excitedly awaiting the start of WIAA competition!

The KML “Return to Play” Plan aims to provide guidance to support health and safety best practices when our teams are at KML or on the road. This comprehensive document also shares important information for any team, or fan, visiting the KML campus. Please take note, especially, of our current fan attendance policy which limits indoor events to 2 guests* per KML student-athlete and outdoor events to 4 guests* per KML student-athlete. We appreciate your understanding and observance of these guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy season!

*Multi-school invitationals at KML have stricter attendance policies in place.

Together We Are ROOTED IN CHRIST

Our new school theme is Rooted in Christ! This theme and image exemplify our mission. Just like a tree that stands secure with roots which are deep and strong, so our teenagers must also develop a personal faith planted firmly in God’s Word. Our role at KML is to nourish the students academically and spiritually, guiding them to develop an unshakable faith which will continue to grow throughout their lives.

Your prayers and financial gifts help us build a strong foundation in our students.

Your support helps us meet the needs of a growing enrollment and allows us to finish the lower level of the Science and Innovation Wing. Your partnership gives us more opportunities to reach out to new families and offer a Christian education which helps even more students deepen the roots of their faith in Christ.

We pray your own faith will sustain you, regardless of future challenges, and we pray that you join us with your support as we strive to keep our young people Rooted in Christ!

From the Principal’s Pen

Dear KML Family,

The transition to and through the high school years can be exciting and exhilarating but also challenging. We are now more than one month into our school year, and academic struggles or challenges may begin to arise. The honeymoon is over, and the hard work continues! One of our goals for your student’s high school education is to help your young adult grow from academic dependence to independence. If you find your child struggling, encourage them to go to their teachers to clarify or ask for help. It is an important skill they will use often as they continue their journey through this life! May God bless our entire KML family as we live and work in the freedom Christ has won for us all! We are here to support our students as we educate, encourage, and equip them for life and eternity.

God Bless,

Principal Luehring

Important Info About Attending Athletic Events at KML

Per our KML “Return to Play Plan,” our spectator capacities are limited for FALL sports in keeping with WIAA, ECC, and Washington/Ozaukee County Health Department guidance. Fall athletes will be allocated an East Central Conference (ECC) Pass to meet our capacity guidelines. These passes are good for all KML HOME, regular season events and all AWAY conference events. ALL spectators MUST have this pass for admission into the event, no exceptions. NO admission fee will be charged for FALL regular season home events or away conference events.

At this time, unless you are issued a pass through an athlete or coach, you are unable to attend a KML athletic event. As capacity guidelines are updated, we will reassess and communicate these changes via our kmlchargers.com website or our KML social media sites.

For indoor events, we will live stream our home games at our YouTube athletics site, “KML Chargers Athletics.” These are for LIVE viewing only. Be sure to subscribe for easier viewing!

For more information on our health and safety best practices as well as admission information, visit https://kmlchargers.com/attendanceadmissions.

View KML’s Athletic Attendance Quick Guide.

Questions? Contact Mrs. Amy Nass (amy.nass@kmlhs.org).

Thank you for your understanding and support of KML athletics.
