Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear KML Family,

What are you most thankful for today? It’s a question we should probably reflect on every single day, but the flurry of life activity makes it difficult to pause sometimes. There are many answers to this question and too many to list. Today I thank God for purpose. He has uniquely gifted each of us to fulfill a purpose in his kingdom on earth. What a blessing that God gives us the opportunity to be his light in a world filled with darkness, to prioritize living the way he has designed us to live so that we can make him known. We are thankful to be able to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders with a mindset of gratefulness – for the richness of God’s amazing blessings, the greatest of which is Jesus Christ our Savior. Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless,

President Jamie Luehring

Call News

Mr. Mark Nolte has returned the call he received to teach grades 5 & 6 at St. John’s Lutheran School in Baraboo, WI, and will continue to teach math at KML.

Pastor Ben Reichel, KML Word of God 12 and Latin instructor, has received two different calls. He has returned the call he received to serve as the pastor at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hudson, WI, and continues to deliberate the call to serve as the pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD.

On November 14, the KML General Board issued a call to Mrs. Amanda Cvikel to teach Foods and Sewing at KML to fill the upcoming vacancy upon Mrs. Linda Hering’s retirement at the end of this school year. Mrs. Cvikel is a member at Morning Star in Jackson and is a former high school teacher who has served as a full time mom to her young family in recent years.

Please keep Pastor Reichel and Mrs. Cvikel in your prayers as they deliberate where to use their gifts to serve the Lord.

12 Days of Christmas Coffee Fundraiser

KML is once again partnering with Coffeeville Company to raise money for KML’s 12 Days of Christmas fundraiser to support families in need. This year we are raising money for the Bublitz, Schram, and Strong families. (Learn more about the families at kmlhs.org/12days.)

For each $14 bag of premium 12 oz. coffee or $13 box of 12 K-Cups sold, Coffeeville is donating $3 back to the 12 Days of Christmas. Bags are sold with whole OR ground coffee beans and make great gifts for the coffee-lovers on your Christmas list!

Prizes will be awarded to KML students with the top number of sales. You may choose a KML student to receive credit for your order, if you wish, by naming them on the order form.

Place your order online today at kmlhs.org/12days.

Orders will be available for pick up in the KML PAC Lobby
on December 9 & 16 from 2:45 – 4:00 PM.

Order by December 1, 2022, to pick up December 9.

Order by December 8, 2022, to pick up December 16.

(Orders placed by December 1 may also be picked up on December 16.)

Late orders cannot be honored.

If you are unable to pick up your order at these times and do not choose a KML student to deliver it to you (option on order form), please contact Mrs. Chelsie Brandl (chelsie.brandl@kmlhs.org) after placing your order.

If you do not wish to purchase coffee but would still like to donate to support our 12 Days families, visit kmlhs.org/12days and click on the “Donate Money for 12 Days Families” button. Last day to donate: December 31, 2022.

Charger Wear to Benefit 12 Days Families

Save the Date!

As we prepare our hearts for this season of Thanksgiving, we hope you will join us in the celebration of God’s blessing as we grow together. When so much attention in the world is given to what divides us, generosity brings people together. That love compels us to live God’s way at KML.

GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity which will take place on November 29, 2022. On the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, we ask you to join us in prayer and share your support for our vision to provide a Christ-guided success path for all.

We give thanks to the Lord for a challenge to reach 500 donors toward our goal of 1400 Let’s Grow Together donors on GivingTuesday.

This challenge is in addition to a $200 incentive gift to KML for every donor up to 1400 donors who give their gift to the Let’s Grow Together campaign.

When 150 of those 1400 donors are KML alumni, our generous donor will give an additional $20,000!

Mark your calendars, spread the word, and stay tuned for more details!
