25 Years in the Ministry

As this school year draws to a close, we recognize two members of our faculty who have both reached the significant milestone of 25 years in the public ministry: Mr. Nate Amundson and Mr. Matt Rydecki. Join us in praising God for the faithful work of these servants.

Farewell & God’s Blessings

We bid farewell to six faculty and staff members at the end of this school year, thank them for their faithful service, and wish them God’s richest blessings.

After teaching part-time for this past year, Mr. Ross Gottschalk has graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and has been assigned as a pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbus, OH.

Mrs. Linda Hering is retiring after teaching 25 years at KML, 27 total in the public ministry.

Mr. Tom Hering is retiring after serving as an in-house sub at KML for 2 years.

Mrs. Beth Human is pursuing other endeavors after teaching at KML this past year.

Mr. Dave Stern is retiring after serving in the KML maintenance department for 30 years.

Mrs. Dawn Wilcox is retiring after serving on the KML staff for 22 years, most of those years as one of our main office secretaries.



Let’s Grow Together Campaign Update

As we close out the first year of our two-year Let’s Grow Together campaign, we are grateful that the Lord has blessed us through you. Together we have raised close to $5 million towards our goal of $10 million. To God be all the glory! Final decisions will be made this summer to determine the scope of this project. If you would like your gift or pledge to be counted as part of this decision process, please submit your commitment by June 30, 2023.

Job Openings

Due to KML’s growing enrollment and more students utilizing the Learning Center, our staffing needs have increased. The KML Learning Center has full-day and half-day positions open for individuals to work with students beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. A high school diploma is required. If interested or for more information, contact Learning Center Administrator Sheila Krause (sheila.krause@kmlhs.org).


Due to increasing interest in the program, our Kettle Moraine Lutheran Elementary School Band Program is looking for part-time teachers to help teach band lessons at KML Federation elementary schools during the 2023-2024 school year. A degree in instrumental education is required. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Mr. Nate Amundson, Director of Elementary School Bands (nate.amundson@kmlhs.org).


KML is looking to fill the position of Main Office Secretary. This individual will assist the Director of Student Culture and the Director of Student Services. Duties include accurate recording of student attendance and performing general secretarial and office management tasks. Additionally, the person in this position will serve as the point of contact for online course providers and assist in registering, monitoring, and recording the progress of students in online and dual credit classes and Youth Apprenticeship and Work Release programs.

This is a full-time seasonal position of 40 hours per week (approximately 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday), yearly from August to the beginning of June. Hourly pay is based on experience.

Estate Planning Seminar & Workshop

Paul Snamiska, KML Federation’s estate planning counselor, is offering a special seminar at KML on Tuesday, June 13, from 6:00-7:00 PM to share information on the documents and process of estate planning. This free event is designed to answer questions and be very practical. No registration necessary.

A second event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, from 6:00-7:15 PM. This workshop at KML is designed to be hands-on and will equip all attendees to make significant progress on their own plan. This event is also free, but attendance is limited and pre-registration is required. Contact Paul Snamiska (paul.snamiska@kmlhs.org) to register.



Miriam’s Walk for Life

Registration is NOW OPEN for Miriam’s Walk for Life to be held on Saturday, July 15, beginning at 8:00 AM on the KML campus. Register to participate and/or sign up to volunteer at alife2.com/miriams-walk.

Fundraising is encouraged for this free event, but is not required in order to attend. Some of the day’s activities include themed laps, free refreshments, entertainment by a variety of musical groups, a fun carnival atmosphere – all to help us remember and celebrate Miriam’s love for life.

Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and will be asked to only work a portion of the morning in order to allow you time to participate in the walk if you wish. Some of the roles volunteers will be asked to fill include set-up or take down, registration, activity stations (face painting, balloon animals, etc.), and helping with themed laps.

Miriam Kremer was a KML senior who strongly supported the mission of WELS Lutherans for Life until she went home to heaven in November 2022 after a three-year battle with leukemia.



Charity Golf Outing & Dinner

The KML Charity Golf Outing & Dinner will be held on July 17, 2023, at the West Bend Country Club. Due to the immense popularity of this event, golf registrations are SOLD OUT. Contact Mr. Paul Snamiska (paul.snamiska@kmlhs.org) to be put on a waiting list. The Klomp is Back!

Join us on Saturday, August 12, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Klomp, the 25th anniversary of cross country and Coach Kuehl at KML, and the 50th anniversary of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School!

Area runners and walkers of all ages, KML alumni, parents, and students; as well as area high school and grade school cross country runners are invited to participate. Especially this year, we encourage all KML alumni, past Klomp runners, and KML CC alumni to join us for the festivities!

Beginning Wednesday, May 31, the SCRIP Office will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 AM -12:00 PM throughout the summer with regular hours resuming on Thursday, August 17.

If you’re not a current SCRIP user, now is a great time to become one! Start earning credit toward tuition/school fees, or receive a cash rebate on your purchases. If you didn’t know, you don’t have to have a student currently enrolled or be making tuition payments to benefit from SCRIP. Stop in to the SCRIP Office or visit kmlhs.org/scrip to learn more. We’d love to help you put this program to use!
