25 Years in the Ministry

As this school year draws to a close, we recognize two members of our faculty who have both reached the significant milestone of 25 years in the public ministry: Dr. Jamie Luehring and Mrs. Rachel Luehring. Join us in praising God for the faithful work of these servants.

Farewell & God’s Blessings

We bid farewell to four faculty members at the end of this school year, thank them for their faithful service, and wish them God’s richest blessings.

After teaching part-time at KML for this past year, Mr. Ryan Gurgel and Mr. Joshua Schroeder have graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Mr. Gurgel has been assigned to serve as a tutor at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI, and Mr. Schroeder has been assigned as a pastor to start a mission in Kalispell, MT.

Mr. Matt Moeller is moving to IL to serve as the senior administrator and high school and junior high school principal at Illinois Lutheran Schools after teaching at KML for 23 years.

Pastor Ben Reichel, after teaching at KML for seven years, is departing to serve as the youth and young adult pastor at St. Mark Ministries in Green Bay, WI.

 


 

Call News

Mr. Malachi Mortensen has accepted the part-time call issued to him by the KML Board of Directors to teach two sections of Word of God for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Mortensen is enrolled at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and is currently vicaring at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE.

 


 

KML Schools Curriculum Director Installation

Ms. Stefanie Herbert, KML Schools Curriculum Director, will be installed as part of the KML Schools Conference at KML on Tuesday, June 4, at 8:00 AM during the conference devotion. Pastor Jeremy Husby (Peace, Hartford), a member of the KML Education Committee, will be leading the installation.

 


 

Let’s Grow Together Campaign Update

As we close out our two-year Let’s Grow Together campaign, we are grateful that the Lord has blessed us through you. Together we have raised more than $6.6 million towards our goal of $10 million. To God be all the glory!

Groundbreaking will begin soon and decisions will be made this summer to determine how much of this project will be finished. If you would like your gift or pledge to be counted as part of this decision process, please submit your commitment by June 30, 2024.

Job Opening: Mission Advancement Associate

KML seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as the Mission Advancement Associate, supporting the Mission Advancement Office and reporting to the Director of Mission Advancement. The primary responsibilities for the individual in this position will be to support the goals, programs, and activities of the Mission Advancement Team. In addition to daily assistance with fundraising tasks, the Mission Advancement Associate will assist with donor, alumni, and community engagement, special events, communications, marketing, and related activities.

This position is part-time year-round, approximately 20 hours/week beginning July 1, 2024.

Charity Golf Outing & Dinner

The KML Charity Golf Outing & Dinner will be held on July 15, 2024, at the West Bend Country Club. Due to the immense popularity of this event, golf registrations are SOLD OUT. Miriam’s Walk for Life

You are invited to Miriam’s Walk for Life on July 20, hosted by WELS Lutherans for Life. This event is designed to benefit the ministries of WELS Lutherans for Life and to honor Miriam Kremer, a KML student who strongly supported the mission of WELS Lutherans for Life until she went home to heaven in November 2022 at the young age of 17 after a three-year battle with leukemia..

Miriam’s Walk will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024, 8:00-11:00 AM at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. The event features themed laps around the high school track, carnival-like events, and musical groups.

SCRIP Notes

Beginning May 28, the SCRIP Office will be open for walk-in orders and pickups on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (closed July 4). Regular hours resume on the first day of school, August 19, 2024.

If you’re not a current SCRIP user, now is a great time to become one! Start earning credit toward tuition/school fees, or receive a cash rebate on your purchases. If you didn’t know, you don’t have to have a student currently enrolled or be making tuition payments to benefit from SCRIP. Stop in to the SCRIP Office or visit kmlhs.org/scrip to learn more. We’d love to help you put this program to use!
