![]() ![]() October 22, 2020 From the Principal’s Pen Dear KML Family, October is filled with a flurry of activity at KML … concerts, sporting events, drama productions, and many other events keep our students extremely busy. Though a bit of fatigue begins to set in, it is truly a blessing to see the gifts and talents of our students expressed in so many different ways. We pray our students have a moment to pause and relax during our days off at the end of next week so they can return refreshed and ready to continue through this year together. Blessings, Principal Luehring
Covid-19 Update As we navigate through this pandemic together, we will continue to communicate with families who have had a child who is in the same classes, extra-curricular activities, and whose locker is within 6 feet of another student who tests positive for COVID-19. We will update this report on a weekly basis to give parents the larger picture of how many cases have occurred in our student body. In order to switch to virtual, parents must notify the Main Office (262-677-4051; office@kmlhs.org).

KML Virtual Grandparents’ Days October 15 – November 1, 2020 Parents, please pass the following information on to your child’s grandparents. Grandparents are special gifts from God and play an increasingly important role in guiding young people. This year’s Grandparents’ Days are a little different but just as fun! In past years, we honored you, our KML grandparents, with a special gift when you joined your grandchildren and us at school. This year, we invite you to show your love to your current KML grandchildren in a different way. Visit www.kmlhs.org/grandparents to register your current KML grandchild(ren) for a chance for them to win one of ten $25 gift certificates for KML SCRIP. Imagine the excitement your grandchild will experience if they win, thanks to you! Additionally, when you visit www.kmlhs.org/grandparents you will have the opportunity to share some wisdom or advice. This advice will be shared on a mural poster at KML for your grandchildren and all current students to read. www.kmlhs.org/grandparents A relative or special friend is invited to participate if a student’s grandparents are unable to do so. Thank you for joining us during this unique year in celebrating the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren!
Visit www.kmlchargers.com for up-to-date schedules, rosters, announcements, event scores, pictures and more! If you are interested in sharing pictures for posting, PLEASE contact Mrs. Amy Nass (amy.nass@kmlhs.org) for more information.
Sports Uniform Turn-In and Team Locker Clean-Up Uniforms are to be collected by the head coach of each team within one week of the final game. Clean uniforms should be in a bag with the student-athlete’s name included. Late fees of $5 per week will be charged on a weekly basis following the one week deadline. Missing uniforms will be charged a replacement fee. Please remember that the KML Activities Department masks and gaiters are also part of the official uniform and must be returned clean (we will rewash them to be safe). A $10 charge for dirty uniforms/missing face coverings will be assessed. All athletes should have their team locker cleaned out within one week following their last game as well. Fines will be charged for lockers which are not emptied and cleaned.
Student Athlete Forms Needed for Winter Sports Students who were not in a fall sport, but are planning to try out for a winter sport, must have the necessary athletic forms on file (WIAA green Physical Card or WIAA orange Alternate Year Card, the KMLHS blue Compliance Form, the yellow Parent/Athlete Concussion Agreement Form, white Trainer Authorization Form). Athletes will not be allowed to try out if the forms are incomplete. Please contact Mrs. Amy Nass (262-677-4051 x1103; amy.nass@kmlhs.org) for verification or with questions. Athletes who participated in a FALL SPORT would already have the necessary paperwork submitted. Forms may be obtained from the Activities Office or at http://kmlchargers.com/athletic-paperwork/.
