From the President’s Pen

Dear KML Family,

May the light of Jesus our Savior continue to shine in your hearts throughout the Christmas season! God’s blessings to you and your family as Christ’s birth once again resonates in our faith-filled hearts. We pray God continues to be with our students as they prepare for exam week next week.

Blessings,

Semester Exam Schedule

Please look over the information below regarding our schedule for next week.

  • Tuesday, December 21: Periods 1, 2, 3 (7:40 AM – 12:05 PM)
  • Wednesday, December 22: Periods 4, 5, 6 (7:40 AM – 12:05 PM)
  • Thursday, December 23: Periods 7, 8 (7:40 AM – 10:55 AM)

All students are expected to arrive at school at the regular time each day. Students who have study hall/commons for the first period of each day (periods 1, 4, 7) are NOT allowed to miss those periods.

Those who have study hall/commons for the last period of each day (periods 3, 6, 8) are allowed to leave early as long as they turn in a permission note from their parents the day before. Students will NOT be allowed to call home on the day of their study hall to request last minute permission. Students who are excused from the last period study hall/commons are required to leave campus and are not allowed to return until after school is dismissed. This applies to students who have multiple study halls/commons after Chapel (periods 2 & 3 or periods 5 & 6) as well.

All classes, with the exception of study hall/commons, will have a test or a meaningful learning experience planned for that period.

Due to the shortened school day, there will be no hot lunch or cafeteria service on any of the exam days.

Bus Schedule on Exam Days

  • Tuesday, December 21: bus departure from KML at 12:15 PM
  • Wednesday, December 22: bus departure from KML at 12:15 PM
  • Thursday, December 23: bus departure from KML at 11:15 AM

Buses will run to and from school on all three test days.

Riteway – Germantown will have two buses at KML these days. One for in town and one for out of town.

Riteway – West Bend will drop students off at Good Shepherd only. The shuttle bus will not arrive at Good Shepherd until 3:00 PM if students want to wait for that bus to take them home. We strongly recommend finding an alternative pick up for these days, either from KML or from Good Shepherd.

Email or stop in the Main Office if you have any questions.

Lannon Stone Foundation Scholarship

Lannon Stone Foundation announced it will once again sponsor a scholarship which will pay one half of the KML tuition for a member of KML’s class of 2023. Applicants cannot be participants in the school choice program. The student should be planning to pursue a career in engineering or science. A successful applicant will be a member of the class of 2023, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and plan to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university beginning in the fall of 2023. Applicants for the scholarship should submit a professional cover letter and essay as if they were applying for a job or to a university. The cover letter must demonstrate they meet the criteria. The one page essay should describe their interest in their chosen field of study.  Student questions can be directed to Mr. Jason Walz or Mrs. Wendy Breimon.

Submissions should be emailed to Mrs. Wendy Breimon in KML’s Mission Advancement Office (wendy.breimon@kmlhs.org) no later than Monday, January 17. Mrs. Breimon will forward the applications to Lannon Stone. Officials from the company will interview the top three candidates and make the award determination.
