From the President’s Pen

Dear KML Family,

As we approach exam week next week, our students continue to work diligently while enjoying their time together as a KML family. Each morning as I welcome the students, I can tell they are getting weary (along with the adults around here). Please pray for all our students and, in particular, our seniors as they go through the many emotions the end of a school year can bring. Pray they take the time to enjoy their last days and events and that they continue to encourage one another. God has blessed us in so many ways in this very trying year for everyone. For that we are so thankful! God’s continued blessings to our entire KML family as we transition to summer soon.

In Jesus,

President Luehring

Final Exam Schedule

  • Wednesday, May 25: Periods 5, 4, 3 (7:40 AM – 12:05 PM)
  • Thursday, May 26: Periods 2, 1 (7:40 AM – 10:40 AM)

All students are expected to arrive at school at the regular time each day. Students who have study hall/commons for the first period of each day (periods 8, 5, 2) are NOT allowed to miss those periods.

Those who have study hall/commons for the last period of each day (periods 6, 3, 1) are allowed to leave early as long as they turn in a permission note from their parents the day before.Students will NOT be allowed to call home on the day of their study hall/commons to request last minute permission. Students who are excused from the last period study hall/commons are required to leave campus and are not allowed to return until after school is dismissed.

All classes, with the exception of study hall/commons, will have a test or a meaningful learning experience planned for that period.

Due to the shortened school day, there will be no hot lunch or cafeteria service on any of the exam days.

Summer Employment Opportunities for Students

Did you know we have a student job board? It has been filling up with many summer employment opportunities for our students. From golf courses, day cares, and CNA positions to restaurants and many more, there is something for all interests. If your student is looking for volunteer service hours, there are volunteer opportunities on this board as well. Encourage your student to check it out!

Work Permits

Students under the age of 16 will require a work permit when hired for a new job. The Main Office can issue work permits for KML students. The following items are needed in order to issue a work permit:

  • $10 permit fee. May be paid with exact cash (no change can be made) or a check made out to KMLHS.
  • This completed form.
  • The minor’s original birth certificate.
  • The minor’s original social security card.
  • A letter of parental permission.
  • A letter from the employer stating the minor’s job title and duties.
  • The minor must be present while requesting the work permit as their signature is required.

Soles for Jesus

Shoe donations to Soles for Jesus can be placed in the collections boxes located in the KML Main Entrance and cafeteria. We gladly accept shoes of any type and size. Your donation will help spread the Gospel message in Africa. Volunteer opportunities are also available at SFJ in Brown Deer (www.solesforJesus.org). Thank you to those who have shared their shoes throughout this school year!
