 June 8, 2023 From the President’s Pen Dear KML Family, I thought I would share how wonderful it is to be on summer break but still have such a busy campus full of activity. There are camps and students of all ages participating in so many different areas that will help them grow throughout the summer. The educating, encouraging, and equipping never stops! SCRIP News SCRIP Office Summer Hours
Attention, families of graduation seniors! You do not have to stop using SCRIP when your students leave KML. You can switch your rebate option and simply receive a check in the mail once a year for all the bonuses you’ve earned. Email the SCRIP Office (scrip@kmlhs.org) and we can help you make that change. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Stay informed about bonuses over the summer! Sign up for emails from RaiseRight so you know when bonus rebates are available during the summer when there is no KMaiL. If you don’t already receive them, this feature can be turned on by going to Account/Settings/Personal Information if you’re using a desktop or Account/Settings/Notifications if using the app. If you’re not a current SCRIP user, now is a great time to become one! Start earning credit toward tuition and fees, or receive a cash rebate on your purchases. You can benefit from the SCRIP program even if you do not have a student currently enrolled. Stop in the SCRIP Office or visit kmlhs.org/scrip to learn more. We’d love to help you put this program to use!
Senior Picture Guidelines & Deadline It’s time to start thinking about senior pictures for students in the class of 2024! Having your senior pictures taken can be a time consuming process, so we recommend choosing a photographer and contacting him/her right away. All senior pictures must be submitted by January 15, 2024. Because the yearbook represents Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, we want to maintain a consistent style and format throughout the book. We do limit the pictures seniors may place in the senior portrait section of the yearbook. The yearbook staff asks that one picture be taken and submitted digitally which meets the guidelines found at kmlhs.org/seniorpics. Senior pictures are due January 15, 2024. If we do not receive a picture by this date, the student’s ID picture will be placed in the yearbook instead. Please do not wait until the last minute. New Process for Work Permits Effective immediately, work permits are available online through the Department of Workforce Development. As such, KML will no longer be issuing work permits. A parent can access the site and follow the instructions at dwd.wisconsin.gov/er/laborstandards/workpermit. Payment is made directly to the department through the application using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the DWD mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer.
Class of 2024 Seniors Borrowing Sports Uniforms Seniors wishing to borrow sports uniforms for senior pictures must fill out a form (posted at kmlchargers.com/athletic-paperwork – scroll to the bottom of the page) and include a $15 deposit of which $10 will be returned when the uniform is returned. For BASKETBALL, FOOTBALL, and SOFTBALL, please contact your coach directly to coordinate obtaining your uniform. For all other sports, please email your request to the Activities Office (amy.nass@kmlhs.org) A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS PRIOR (during summer hours).
Required Forms for Sport Participation Students participating in athletics are required to have the consent forms detailed below on file with the KML Athletic Department. Mandatory Meeting for New Student Athletes and Parents NEW KML students (freshmen and new transfer students) who plan to participate in a sport during the 2023-2024 school year are required to attend an informational parent and athlete meeting. The date of the in-person meeting is Wednesday, August 9, at 7:00 PM in the PAC Auditorium. The meeting will also be livestreamed and recorded for those who are unable to attend the meeting in person. More information and the live link will be made available at kmlchargers.com at a later date.
