From the President’s Pen

Dear KML Family,

If you walk through our hallways or look in our classrooms, you will see our culture words displayed. These are words that we are utilizing to remind ourselves of God’s loving expectations on how we live His Way. We live His Way because we are so thankful for the grace and forgiveness he freely offers us through Christ.

Our first culture word is gratefulness. The Biblical basis is Colossians 3:15, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (NIV) So often in this world, sin invites ungratefulness and selfishness. May we reflect on God’s goodness to us whether in good times or bad.

In Jesus,

President Luehring

Late Start TOMORROW, Friday, September 1

Friday, September 1, will be our first late start of the school year. Our students can enjoy a few extra minutes of rest tomorrow morning. Classes will begin at 8:00 AM, not 7:40.

Student Services Weekly News

KML’s Student Services department has a weekly email which goes out to the student body. This email includes all volunteer and job postings. It also includes the colleges and military branches who will be on campus in the upcoming week.

This year, in an effort to keep parents informed, a link to this weekly news will be included in each week’s KMaiL. It will be linked at the end of KMaiL after “Upcoming Events.” (This week it is linked in this article AND at the end of KMaiL.)

View the Student Services Weekly News.

We hope this will be helpful to you if you are assisting your student in finding opportunities to volunteer or encouraging them to visit with a college recruiter when they are on campus.

KML Culver’s Days in Jackson

The first Wednesday of every month during the school year is KML Culver’s Day at Culver’s in Jackson. SIX student names will be drawn from the class with the highest sales! Winners will receive either a value meal basket, a cheese curd basket, or a concrete mixer. All of this is in addition to 10% of all sales going toward KML’s Let’s Grow Together campaign.

Wednesday, September 6, is our first KML Culver’s Day of the school year in Jackson. Be sure to bring a coupon so you can record the class and student you would like to win. You may print one from our website (kmlhs.org/culvers) or ask for one at Culver’s. Thank you for supporting your high school.

Chargers for the Cure!

Please support KML’s fall Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser by purchasing and wearing a PINK OUT shirt. All proceeds will be donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin’s breast cancer research department.

Shirts will be available to pre-order Friday, September 1, 2023, through NOON on Friday, September 8, 2023. We will have a very limited number of shirts for sale after the pre-order on a first-come basis. We highly suggest ordering in advance.

There are TWO ways to order:

  1. KML students, faculty, and staff members can place an order through a google form that will be emailed directly to their KML email account on September 1. Students can order for their family members as well with parent permission. Student accounts will be charged directly for all orders placed. All sales are final. Orders will be delivered to the KML student locker or staff mailbox.
  2. Anyone can order at the online link kmlhs.org/pinkshirt. Orders will be delivered to the KML student indicated, or can be picked up from the Activities Office after September 29. Payment MUST be made via credit card.

*Just a reminder to not double up on the ordering process – either order through your student account OR with the online link (kmlhs.org/pinkshirt). All sales are final. Please contact Mrs. Amy Nass (amy.nass@kmlhs.org) with order questions.

Show your support by wearing your PINK OUT shirts at the following KML home sporting events:

  • Cross Country – Oct 4 – KML Schools Cross Country Meet
  • Volleyball – Oct 12 – KML vs Ripon
  • Football – Oct 13 – KML vs Kewaskum
  • Soccer – Oct 13 – KML vs Hartford Union

Many of us know someone affected by this disease; now we have the chance to show our support by wearing a shirt and financially helping in the research effort!

If you wish to make a direct donation or additional donation, please contact Mrs. Nass (amy.nass@kmlhs.org) for more information.

Thank you for your support and prayers!

4th Annual Autism Awareness Football Game & T-Shirt Ordering

KML football is now taking orders for this year’s Autism Awareness t-shirts which you can wear in support of KML football at the game on September 21 and also help the Autism Awareness Society of Wisconsin in their efforts to assist families of those who are on the Autism Spectrum. Each $15 t-shirt you purchase will allow KML to make a $6 donation to the Autism Society.

The football program has set a goal to raise more than $2500. Our opponent for this year’s Autism Awareness game on September 21, Ripon High School, will be partnering with us by purchasing shirts as well.

Because this event is happening in less than a month, ordering time is limited and urgent. Order a shirt now through September 7 at 6:00 PM at kmlhs.org/autismtee. Please order under your student’s name. (Check with your student to avoid duplicate ordering!) Each shirt you order will be billed to your student’s account. If you’d like to order multiple shirts, please complete the order form more than once. T-shirts will be distributed at school in advance of the football game.

Questions? Contact Coach David Kren (david.kren@kmlhs.org).
