From the President’s Pen
Dear KML Family,
We miss our students and look forward to seeing them soon! It’s hard to believe another school year is right around the corner. Our teachers have been in meetings this week as we prepare for our full KML family to arrive on campus. We began our meetings reflecting on our school year theme – Let’s Grow Together. We were reminded that the foundation of our school is Jesus and that we must spend time with him daily. That foundation reminds us of God’s grace for us and of our opportunities to respond to that grace in how we live with love for those around us.There are so many activities, content areas, and events always happening at KML as a part of the high school experience. Christ’s foundation of love will continue to be the foundation for all of them.
Visitor Policy Update
To ensure a safe school environment, KML has partnered with a third-party company to screen all visitors prior to their admittance to the school building. Visitors who plan to go beyond the Main Office should make sure they have a state-issued photo ID along with them prior to entering the building. If you are picking up SCRIP or dropping off an item for your student, this does not apply. It is only applicable if you plan to go beyond the Main Office. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Reporting a Student Absence
In cases where a student is absent, the parent/guardian should follow this procedure:
If an email is not sent, the parent/guardian should send a signed, written explanation (including the above required information) on the first day the student returns to school. The written excuse should be turned in to the Main Office. Failure to turn in a written excuse will result in an unexcused absence on the student’s permanent record.
This information can also be found online at www.kmlhs.org under Resources > Student Absences or www.kmlhs.org/student-absences.
Senior Picture Guidelines & Deadline
It’s time to start thinking about senior pictures for students in the class of 2023! Having your senior pictures taken can be a time consuming process, so we recommend choosing a photographer and contacting him/her right away. All senior pictures must be submitted by January 13, 2023.
Because the yearbook represents Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, we want to maintain a consistent style and format throughout the book. We do limit the pictures seniors may place in the senior portrait section of the yearbook. The yearbook staff asks that one picture be taken and submitted digitally which meets the guidelines found at kmlhs.org/seniorpics.
Senior pictures are due January 13, 2023. If we do not receive a picture by this date, the student’s ID picture will be placed in the yearbook instead. Please do not wait until the last minute.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Rebecca Meyer (email@example.com) with any questions or concerns.

Equipment and Uniforms
Athletes are issued uniforms at the beginning of each sports season. The proper care of that equipment is the duty of the athlete. Uniforms should never be bleached. Equipment or uniforms that are lost or damaged beyond common use must be replaced by the athlete. The cost will be based on the replacement price. Cleaned uniforms are due to the coach or Activities Office within one week after the team’s final season game for each individual athlete. Late fees of $5.00 per week will be assessed up to a month, after which a replacement fee will be assessed to the athlete. Uniforms must be handed in to the Activities Office in a bag with the athlete’s name included. Please be sure the uniform is cleaned, turned right-side out, and complete. Repairs should be made if possible. Please contact the Activities Office with any questions you may have.
Fall Athletics Team Pictures
All athletes participating in a fall sport will have a team picture taken on the dates listed below. Order forms for team and individual pictures will be sent home with each athlete at the start of their season. Purchasing pictures is optional, but all athletes must be in the team photo. Complete uniforms need to be brought and worn for the pictures. Please coordinate jersey color choice with your coaches.
The schedule is as follows:

The online calendar will have the most current schedule.
Fall Sport – Parent Volunteering
Parents who have a child participating in a fall sport will be required to assist with game duties, take admissions, or work in the concession stand. A schedule will be sent home with all athletes and is also posted at kmlchargers.com/athletic-volunteer-schedule. If you are unable to work during your assigned time, please switch with another parent and email Mrs. Amy Nass (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the change. Please identify yourself to the admission takers on the day you are helping with admissions or concessions in order to gain complimentary admission.
